Although updating my wardrobe seasonally sounds extremely tempting, I can't say my bank account would agree with me. Instead of a complete wardrobe revamp, I like to work in a few key items each season that play well with my current pieces, but still freshen up my overall look. I have my eye on six specific things this spring that are easy to mix into just about any wardrobe for a quick refresh, each listed at "splurge" and "save" prices (so you can decide which ones are worth the investment).
1. A WHITE BLAZER |
Add a little polish to your work & play outfits with this simple piece. Fit is key, so be sure to find one that flatters (or have it tailored at your local dry cleaner or tailor).
2. NEUTRAL SANDALS |
Whether flat or heeled, these will be your spring/summer go-to shoes. Bonus: they made legs look extra long.
3. THE BUCKET BAG |
I've fallen hard for this season's "it" bag. Its simple shape and minimalistic feel are fresh, but aren't trendy enough to go out of style any time soon.
4. A FEMININE A-LINE SKIRT |
Flattering on (quite literally) everybody, I love the idea of modernizing this classic silhouette with a slight crop top.
5. DISTRESSED DENIM |
Add a little edge to your look. Balance with a sleek top or a blazer and heels.
6. A STATEMENT NECKLACE |
Statement jewelry is such an easy way to update a wardrobe, and fun pieces can be found at just about every price point. Layer one of these over your favorite tee or button-down.
